My Top 10 Horror Comedy Favorites
10. Killer Klowns From Outer Space – 1988

This movie is an incredible mix of campy fun and genuinely creepy.
9. Scooby-Doo On Zombie Island – 1998

I’m not sure if this is “horror” but it’s my list so I’m including it anyway. I just love Scooby-Doo. I want to think I’m Velma, the smart problem solver, but realistically I’m just Shaggy, always hungry and scared.
8) The Ghost and Mr. Chicken – 1966

It’s Don Knotts being Don Knotts in a haunted house. I don’t know what more you could ask for.
7) Little Evil – 2017

The perfect blend of absurdity, cheesy comedy, and joy. Also, remarkable to note that it was shot with zero retakes in only 25 days.
6) The Comedy Of Terrors – 1964

Vincent Price gets a lot of recognition for his voice and his imposing presence, but he deserves much more acknowledge for his comedic timing.
5) Tremors – 1990

This has been one of my favorite movies since I was a kid, and I had no idea until recently that it was considered a horror movie.
4) Behind the Mask: The Rise of Leslie Vernon – 2006

A mockumentary about an up-and-coming serial killer? Yes please! An absolutely genius idea and it’s done so perfectly in almost every way.
3) The Monster Squad – 1987

“Wolfman’s got nards!” Enough said.
2) Hansel & Gretel: Witch Hunters – 2013

This movie is just campy, silly fun. It’s absurd, it doesn’t take itself seriously, and Hansel has a giant, phallic shaped gun.
1) Army of Darkness – 1992

If you say you’ve never quoted this movie in your daily life, you’re a liar. I think I quote Ash more than I have actual original thoughts.
